Via the Hai Van Pass by buss (it rained on top) we arrived in Hue. Along the way we visited Lang Co Beach with those typical round fisher boats, Minh Mang Tomb and the Thien Mu pagoda and of course another museum. Next stop will be Ho Chi Minh City, where we arrived by plane. Here we got a city tour and saw the Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and the outside of the Independence Palace. Also we made a boat tour along the Perfume River.
Then we crossed the border to Cambodia (Moc Bai - Ba Vet border crossing), but first we visited the Cu Chi Tunnels at Ben Dinh. In Phnom Penh we did another city tour and visited the Genocide Museum and the Choeung Ek Killing Fields. In Battambang we again did another city tour per local tuk-tuk, but main attraction on this vacation has to be the visit to Angkor Wat in Siem Raep. Unfortunately DH Rob got ill, (migraine), so I went there alone with the rest of our group. Angkor Wat is a beautiful temple complex built in the 9th century by the Khmer. The Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm are the icons of these temples. Before we got home, we visited the Phare Circus, that transforms the lives of Cambodian youth.
