As the worldwide pandemy still has not been conquered yet, journeys outside Europe are still difficult because lots of countries still haven't opened their borders for foreigners, or can only be traveled with lots of restrictions. Vaccination is key, and so is desinfecting frequently, both hands and any surface that will be touched. So traveling outside Europe is still on hold, but within Europe there are lots of possibilities. DH and I chose Budapest in Hungary for a short midweek and we left Tuesday October 5 for 4 days. We stayed at Hotel Arcadia in Pest, easy accessible by public transportation (metro, bus and tram stops at the Deak Ferenc square) and close to the main sightseeing attractions, as Houses of Parliament, Saint Stefanus church, Chain bridge, Jewish synagoge and, across the Danube, The Castle and Fishersbastion. The Gellert hill and great Market halls are just a stroll away or can be reached by tram 2. The weather was beautiful on Tuesday, sunny and 25 °c, but it rained the whole day on Wednesday. Temperature dropped 10 degrees and stayed low on Thursday and Friday. Still we had a great time and we took a lot of walks in the city center. It was great to be able to travel again and the next trip has already been booked again.
November 20 I will leave for Tenerife together with my daughter.
