When our kids were little, we used to go on vacation by car and stayed in our own country, while their friends at school took a plane and left for far away destinations. Our daughters came to a point that they started nagging about going abroad, because they wanted to take a plane as well and enjoy the experience of flying. I made them this promise: if you want to fly, okay, but then we'll go far, far away, so you'll have to stay on the plane for several hours . They got all exited just by the thought alone.

Finally during Fall break in 2000 (October) we booked our vacation to Orlando, Florida and the girls were thrilled!  First of all because they got their way and more important, we are going to the States and we'll have a great time visiting all the theme parks of Disney. We spent a fortnight at Walt Disney World, Animal Kingdom and Sea World and had lots of fun!! Meeting all the Disney characters and seeing the killer whales (Shamu) at Sea World gave them the vacation of a lifetime. A tradition was born. As from this date, we never ever spent a vacation in the Netherlands anymore and all future vacations started by leaving on a jetplane.
